Russellville City Councilman Jimmy Davenport, who also serves as a member of Main Street Russellville, gave a report Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the Russellville City Council meeting concerning the entity’s up and coming fundrasing year.
Davenport reported that the board of Main Street met last week and put their annual agenda together including fundraisers that will help finish the Fourth Street Theater project.
The next big fundraiser put on by Main Street will be in April and it promises to be quite the event.
Main Street will be hosting the first annual Jessie James Bluegrass Jamboree at the old Logan County Courthouse. A date has tentatively been set and will be advertised soon.
Davenport said Bluegrass groups from all around will be invited to perform at the Jamboree and it will be a day filled with fun for the whole community. This event will help support work to be done on the theater, which will be beneficial to the community as well.
The event will be held inside the courthouse if rain appears, but will be held inside as well as outside if the day presents good weather. More information on the jamboree will appear in a future addition of the N-D&L.
