Tennessee National Guardsman Robert “Brian” Thurston of Russellville has been promoted from Specialist to Sergeant in a pinning ceremony with the 278th ACR out of Clarksville, Tenn.
SGT. Thurston has served 11 years in the military with three tours of duty to Iraq, including ground invasion operations in 2003. His wife Whitney was present during the ceremony. Their children are Peyton and Alexis. His parents are Robert and Lori Thurston of Glendale, Ariz. His grandparents are Coleman and Lois Lyne of Dot and John and Doris Long of Green Ridge.
