LEAD welcomes new board members

The Logan Economic Alliance for Development (LEAD) held its annual meeting Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Officers were elected for 2013. They are: Chris Milam, President; Mark Wilkins, 1st Vice-President; Judge Executive Logan Chick, 2nd Vice-President; Russellville Mayor Mark Stratton, Secretary; and David Clarke, Treasurer.

Retiring board members were recognized and honored for their service: They were; Adairville Mayor Jim Wilkerson, public sector director; Auburn Mayor Dewey Roach, public sector director; Pat Suiter, private sector director; and Mark Wetton, private sector director.

Four new directors were welcomed to the board of directors. They are: Adairville Mayor Elect Donna Blake; Auburn Mayor Elect Mike Hughes; Carroll Browning, private sector director; and Jimmy Kent Wilson, private sector director.

The LEAD board of directors consists of fourteen members, seven from the public sector and seven from the private sector, creating a public-private partnership. LEAD is responsible for economic development in Logan County and its four cities. New business attraction, existing business expansion and retention are among its primary goals.

Tom Harned is the executive director and Paula Timberlake is the administrative assistant.
