Dear Editor:
The Auburn Fire Department would like to send out a big thank you to the wonderful secretary Deborah Downey at New Life Baptist Church. Deborah kept the church open during the gas truck accident on 68/80 so that everyone could use the church and have hot coffee.
We also would like to thank Station One firefighters for coming to our aid with their Haz-Mat trailer, Logan County EMS, Rodney Harkleroad and his crew, the Sheriff’s Department, Auburn Police Department, state workers, state police, vehicle enforcement, Logan County chaplains, SMR Environmental and any volunteers for their assistance. The residents of Logan County are very lucky to have such dedicated and well-trained people in our community.
