If you have been “bitten” by the cult craze of vampire lore either through the newest round-up of the Twilight series or are a classic fan follower of the great Bela Lugosi, you may enjoy who is making a stop at the Logan County Public Library in December.

Her name is Bertena Varney, and she is an expert in vampire lore. Varney will be at the library Dec. 6th at 5:30 p.m. to talk about her many books involving vampires.

A self described jack of all trades and a master at none, Varney recently found a love for writing after graduate school and continued to write about things that interested her. She is the author of Lure of the Vampire a Pop Culture Reference Book on Vampires and Vampire News 2011.

Varney is currently on library, college, and conference tours talking about and signing her book. Currently, she teaches sociology at a local college and holds the title of Vampire Examiner and True Blood Examiner at Examiner.com News Outlet. She also lectures at libraries, colleges, and conventions. She is also the owner of Serendipity Life Path and Meditation Center.

Varney has a Master of Education in Social Science and Secondary Education with an emphasis in Vampire Studies, British Literature and Education. She also has a Master of Arts in Sociology and Criminology with an emphasis on Deviant Subcultures (vampire, goth, street gangs), drug addiction and serial killers and carries a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and Secondary Education with an emphasis in sociology, history, and government.

Her Previous professions include College professor and lecturer, Event Planner and College Activities Coordinator, Blog Hosts and Book Reviewer, Middle School Alternative School and High School Teacher, Career Center Director, Juvenile Counselor, Drug Abuse Counselor and Domestic Violence Counselor.
