Senior Sye Head finished his last year of cross country with huge success. Head won the regional championship race and then traveled to the state championship race the following weekend in Lexington and got second place.

The Logan County cross country boys varsity team has made it to state for the past five years and has won the regional championships two years in a row.

“It was really overwhelming. It’s hard to believe it is over, it flew by way too fast,” said Head.

Head started running after his cousin invited him to practice when he was in eighth grade and he has loved it ever since.

“I run for self satisfaction and to prove to people something hard can be done when you work at it,” said Head. “I’ve had a lot of injuries in the past but I’ve always been motivated to keep going.”

Head says running will still remain a huge part of his life after high school as he plans to run in college. Head is really happy with the ending of his high school career and with the way him and his team as done.
