Although it’s a small town, the city of Auburn offers a great deal for the shopper. One business in particular is the Auburn Carpet Center, owned and operated by Valarie Britt.

This store offers all types of flooring, from carpet, wood and vinyl to laminate and tile. The store also has trained installers available to put in your desired flooring.

The Carpet Center has been a stead fast business in Auburn for 10 years, first opening under the ownership of Valarie’s father Bobbie Britt. Valarie took over her father’s business two years ago. She says she is very happy to be able to pick up a business that her father made successful.

The Carpet Center was once located on Caldwell Street, but has recently moved to the old Hall Store, across from the Minit Mart. There is much more room there and the space has opened up opportunity for two other business as well.

Valarie’s mother, Rita Britt, is talented in crafts making. She retired a year or so ago from hair dressing and has just now been able to have time to put her other talents to work. Within the Carpet Center, there is now Rita’s Creations. Rita offers a variety of crafts, from homemade wreaths, to all occasion and holiday crafts. They offer t-shirts and balloon-a-grams as well.

Another business, within the Carpet Store is Simple Solutions, owned and operated by Terrell Kerstner. This business offers decals, lettering, signs, banners, custom art work, advertising, cards, fliers and stickers.

Valarie said she really likes the space the store is in now. She said it is more centrally located and offers so much more to the shopper.
