Clayton Covington, 70, of Auburn, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, in the Logan Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Mississippi Sept. 4, 1942, a son of the late Claric Clayton Covington Sr. and the late Martha Jo Hopper Covington.

Mr. Covington served in the United States Army National Guard and was a cattle farmer and a Methodist.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. at Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel. Burial followed in the Auburn Cemetery. Visitation began Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Larry Vernon, LaMar McDaniel, Mark Belcher, Richard Apodora, Cliff Kelly, Drew Kelly, Cooper Covington and Conner Covington.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Covington; his son, Tripp Covington and Betty Jo of Auburn; his sisters, Martha Jane Kelly of Madison, Miss. and Wanda Faye Taylor of Ridgeland, Miss., and his grandchildren, Cooper, Conner, Carley Jo and Carter.
