Greetings from our little community to yours. Chilly huh? Actually, to me, it’s just plain cold.
Elaine and Tara are home from Charleston, S.C., visiting her son John and Jessica Sweeney, Kayla and Michaela. She delivered enough packages for 100 soldiers to be sent to Afghanistan for Christmas. They were collected here and money to get them sent, so they drove there with the packages and saw some of them on the way Monday before they drove back home. John, Jessica and the girls were doing fine.
If you were late at Church Sunday morning, forgot to set the clock didn’t you?
Visiting awhile last Sunday afternoon with Virginia Hart were Wayne and Mike Brown of Adairville.
Last Sunday at church was “Pastor’s Appreciation Day.” Bro. Art Hatfield was honored with a plaque, plus a church-wide lunch, which was very much enjoyed. Someone had a dish I think of okra in it, if so, would you be so kind as to share it with me, I really enjoyed it.
I got a call one day last week from a former county gal. The former Sally Willhite English, now living in Decatur, Illinois. They were doing fairly well, like most of us, have some medical problems. Good to hear from her.
Rufus Coursey had hip replacement surgery Tuesday in Greenview at Bowling Green. Last I heard he was doing real well. Hope he can soon be back home.
At this time, Jame Fuller is showing some improvement, slow, but maybe before long he will get good reports from his Dr. and feeling much better.
Amy Holland Rhodes of New Albany, Indiana, passes away and her services were October 25th with internment also there. She was 99 years young. She was born and raised in Logan County. Her parents were the late Hilman and Ollie Rust Holland. Her sister was the late Ruth Holland Cauley. She is also survived locally by a niece, Pat Cauley Foster. And thanks to Pat for sharing the news with us and our sympathy.
George Whitson is still having medical problems. At first, thought he had celulitis, but have decided differently now. Anyway, his leg is badly swollen and in much pain. Hurry and get to feeling better. So right now he is not able to be about his usual activities, like you know cows, they gotta be fed.
Our sympathy to Mrs. Sharon Gilliand and her family in the death of her dad, Bro. Fred Richardson in the Louisville area. Corrie Fuller married to Jeff Fuller and Heather Fuller married Kevin Fuller and are both granddaughters of Bro. Richardson. At this time, do not know his service arrangements.
Sorry Danny Coursey was involved in a minor crash this week. Sure glad he is okay.
I guess if you voted Tuesday, you can complain all you want to, if not, I guess keep quiet. I know one thing, I’m so tire of those “political calls” I could scream. Instead of making me want to vote for you, that makes a positive no! Give it some serious thought.
See ya next time.
