Phyllis Ann McIntosh Newman, 65, of Drakesboro, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at her home.

She was born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 18, 1947.

Mrs. Newman was a homemaker, a member of the New Paradise Baptist Church in Greenville and a member of the Hazel Creek Eastern Star.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. at the New Paradise Baptist Church in Greenville with Reverend Tim Adcock officiating. Burial followed in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Drakesboro. Visitation began Sunday, Nov. 4 after 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Newman will lie in state Monday, Nov. 5 after 10 a.m. at the New Paradise Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Wayne Newman of Drakesboro; her sons, Anthony W. “Tony” (Lana) Newman of Belton and Jeffrey (Susan) Newman of Dunmor; her grandchildren, Sheena (Nathan) Phelps, Mark Bennett, Callie Ruth Newman and Grace Ann Newman; her brother, Dwight “Ike’ (Barbara) McIntosh of Lewisburg; her sisters, Helen Dukes of Depoy, Wilda Laney of Russellville and Sharon McIntosh of Greenville, and her sister in law, Wanda Johnson of Hopkinsville.
