The Logan County Impact International Ministries football team was founded by head coach Toby Baptiste and has a very successful season this year. Impact is made up of three components which include youth sports, hands and feet outreach and project change which is how they are reaching out to the community to build this program up and give back.
Head coach Toby Baptiste has the players focus on these four things, faith, family, academics and football. The team has been very successful because of this but Baptiste is also teaching the players a valuable lesson they can take on with them.
“I want them to have a productive life. I want them to adopt good values and become productive citizens for their community and their country. Sports is just the fun part,” said head coach Toby Baptiste.
Baptiste’s wife, Kyleen Baptiste, is also very involved in making Impact a successful ministry.
“Some of these kids have never been asked what they want to do when they grow up. We want to get these kids invested in goals and their family and their conduct at school and social networking sites,” said Kyleen. Impact want to encourage kids to make goals for themselves and support the players.
“We don’t want to sow a religion, we want to sow relationships. We love those players and we want them to love each other. We focus on the mind, spirit and emotions and the success will fall into place,” said Toby. “We want to teach the kids character and commitment. We want to teach these boys how to become men and the young girls to become tough, classy ladies.”
Toby says the name Impact is to symbolize the impact they want to make on the hearts and lives in the community and it is a bold statement that summarizes excellence.
“We both have been through a lot and we want to use those experiences to comfort other people like the way God has comforted us in our lives,” said Kyleen.
