William Dallas “W.D.” Gilliam, 95, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

He was born in Logan County Friday, Sept. 7, 1917, a son of the late Dallas Gilliam and the late Eva Higgins Gilliam. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilliam was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Grise Gilliam.

Mr. Gilliam was employed by the U.S. Postal Service. He was a veteran of World War II. He served in Hawaii, Bora Bora, and Bobcat Island. He was a member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will were held Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. at Price Funeral Home with the Reverend Harold Sharber officiating. Burial followed in Lewisburg Cemetery. Visitation began Tuesday, Oct. 16 after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his sons, James Gilliam of Lewisburg and Bill Gilliam of Houston, Texas; his daughter, Linda Gilliam of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
