Thomas Pendleton Jr., 82, of Russellville, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green.

He was born in Simpson County Jan. 3, 1930, a son of the late Earnest Pendleton and Ella Richardson Pendleton.

Mr. Pendleton worked at ITW and was a bus driver for the Russellville Independent Schools. He was a member of the Middleton Baptist Church. He was a Korean veteran in the United States Army and member of the VFW.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Brother Tommy Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation began Thursday, Oct. 4 from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 5 after 8 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Shawn Ramsey, Travis Ramsey, Jarrod Strader, Jon Paul Bray, Wayne Harris and Rick Stuart.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Nan Pendleton; his son, Charles “Finley” Cooper (Sharon) of Sharon Grove; his daughters, Fairy Robinson (Tom) of Auburn, Jennifer Osborn (Jerry) of Benton, Diane Stiffey (David) of Smith Grove, Carmel Pendleton of Bowling Green and Ginger Kay Pendleton of Crofton; his brothers, Herman Pendleton (Joan) of Waukegan, Ill., James Pendleton (Dottie) of Bowling Green and Donald Pendleton (Charlotte) of Clarksville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
