The Russellville Lady Panther volleyball team went up against the Todd County Lady Rebels on Thursday night. The Lady Panthers fought hard against the Lady Rebels, but lost 0-2 (25-23, 25-22.)

The Lady Panthers started their game strong and held a good lead against the Lady Rebels, but the Lady Rebels quickly made points to tie the game at 17-17. The Lady Panthers had a close game, but the Lady Rebels turned it up and won 25-23.

In the second game, the teams were close in points until the Lady Panthers pulled away and gained a strong lead. But the Lady Panthers couldn’t keep it and the Lady Rebels came back and won the second game 25-22.

“The girls were making good passes and they were communicating very well,” said head coach Terrika Quarles. “I really don’t know what happened.”

The Lady Panthers also recognized their two seniors, Kathleen Noe and Nathasha Haskins, after the game.

“I’m really going to miss them. Nathasha is so motivational and never let the team get down,” said Quarles. “Kathleen has been here as long as I can remember. She is a really good girl and she never gave up. She gave her all whether it was practice or a game.”

The Lady Panthers will face Franklin-Simpson at an away game next Monday, Oct. 8th.
