Jakes Day provides fun for all ages

The Logan/Todd Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation held its annual JAKES Day event for children up to 17 years old on July 21. The event, held at the Red River Fish and Game Club in Adairville, hosted close to forty children participating in trap shooting, BB Gun contest, turkey calling, archery, fishing contest, and firearms safety. The following children took home awards:

Ages 0-5

Archery: Will Tabor– 1st, Joe Anthony Tabor – 2nd, Stephen Rutherford-3rd; Fishing: Joe Anthony Tabor – Smallest Fish, Will Tabor – Biggest Fish, and Stephen Rutherford and Conner Harrison also taking home trophies for Most fish and tying with Will Tabor and Joe Anthony Tabor; Turkey Call: Will Tabor-1st, Joe Anthony Tabor-2nd, Stephen Rutherford – 3rd; BB Gun – Joe Anthony Tabor-1st, Will Tabor-2nd, Emma Wood-3rd

Ages 6-9

Archery: Colton Coomer-1st, Andrew Nations-2nd, Gabe Anderson-3rd; Fishing: Colton Coomer – Smallest Fish, Aiden Rust-Biggest Fish, Aiden Rust- Most Fish; Turkey Call: Colton Coomer-1st, Abbi Walpole-2nd, Andrew Duncan-3rd; BB Gun: Andrew Duncan-1st, Aiden Rust -2nd, Colton Coomer-3rd

Ages 10-13

Archery: Caitlin Wood-1st, John Shoemake-2nd, Briar Webb-3rd, Fishing: Briar Webb-Smallest fish, Dustin Smith-Biggest fish, Matthew Nason - Most fish; Turkey Call: Ethan Paul-1st, Briar Webb-2nd, Alex Walpole-3rd; BB Gun: Justin Wicks-1st, Hunter Adcock-2nd, Caitlin Wood-3rd, Trap Shoot: Briar Webb-1st, Noah Rust-2nd, Alex Walpole-3rd

Ages 14-17

Archery: Josh Stratton-1st, Jordan Campbell-2nd, Connor Clark-3rd, Fishing: Dalton Clark-Smallest fish, Jordan Campbell-Biggest fish, Dalton Clark- Most fish; Turkey Call: Josh Stratton-1st, Jordan Campbell-2nd, Dalton Clark-3rd,Trap Shoot: Connor Clark-1st, Jordan Campbell-2nd, Joseph Woodward-3rd
