Mona Fay Tamme, 75, of Lebanon Junction, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Norton-Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
She was born Dec. 26, 1942, a daughter of the late Arvie Lee and Anna Kathleen Johnson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tamme was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Tamme.
Mrs. Tamme taught school for 30 years in the Bullitt County School System. She was actively involved in church and civic activities. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for 25 years. She was a member of the Bullit County Women’s Club and the First Baptist Church of Lebanon Junction.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church Lebanon Junction with Reverend Rick White officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday, July 6 from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 7 after 9 a.m. at Kappel Funeral Home.
She is survived by her step-children, Wayne Tamme and wife Anita of Pelzer, S.C. and Connie Tamme Denny and husband Clayton of Danville; her sister, Rebecca McGehee and husband Lawrence of Lewisburg; her brother, Drexel Johnson and wife Vernita of Lewisburg; her grandchildren, Kimberly Tamme, Kellie Kenny, Chad Denny and wife Rachel and Chris Denny, and several nieces and nephews.
