Greetings from the Antioch Community.
Our W.O.M. Ladies met on Friday in the home with Christine White. We were few in number, but we had a good study about missions. Those present were Christine, Melba, Juanita, Myrtle and myself.
Friday night I attended the Birthday Party for Isaac Christian. He was five years old. Had a large crowd there and he got lots of gifts. Had lots of Pizza to eat with Dip, Chips, and a beautiful Birthday cake made by his mom with Ice Cream. Everyone had a good time.
On Saturday there was 12 of us Ladies that met at Colonial Inn Restaurant in Russellville and ate lunch together. Those present were Odessa Johnson, Nancy Harris, Juanita Key, Sylvia Clardy, Betty Laster, Myrtle Pogue, Melba Gibbs, Dolores Harris, Phyllis Causey, Carolyn White, Vanessa Price, and Louise Henderson. We had a good time visiting together.
Visiting with Myrtle Pogue was Lorrie Hopper and Lois Earl Brown.
Visiting with Christine White was Jimmy White, our Pastor, Bro. Carmel, Dorothy Henderson, and Juley Nelson came and brought her supper one night.
We had some visitors for Fathers Day Sunday at church. Tammy Williams Givens and her children were there. She asked her daddy what he wanted for Fathers Day and he said he wanted her to come to Antioch and sing for him. So that’s what she did. She sang “The Nails.” She did good.
I hope all the Fathers had a good day on Sunday. My dad has been gone for several years. But you still miss them.
Trevor, Emily Christian and children went to church Sunday morning with Jimmy and Sheila. Then after church they grilled out for lunch and all ate together.
Then after lunch was our Jimmy and Sheila went to Bowling Green to see a lady that works with Jimmy and had fallen and got hurt. Then they stopped by and visited with one of Sheila’s sisters and her husband.
A contented person has learned to accept the bitter with the sweet.
