A new day and a new beginning. We should try to make a new day in our lives, one that we can be proud of and not look back and wish we would have it it in a different was. Life is full of regrets and one day we will stand before our Lord and give an account, yes a full account.

We have had some rain, but not like they have had in other places. My sister in Greenville said they had quite a bit.

We are glad to report that Mae Brignance came through her heart surgery and is doing well. If all goes well, she will be coming home in a few days.

If all goes as planned, I will be in Vanderbilt Hospital the latter part of this month for a pacemaker. They tell me a different technique will be used and i can come home the same day as the surgery. That sounds good to me and I pray that can be done. I think hospitals are great, but it is better to be at home.

Joyce Parrish, Betty Moore, Joetta Dempsey and Janelle Malley treated Mildred Dorris to a birthday luncheon at Phillips’ in Greenville on Friday. They had a very nice meal and enjoyed the time they spent together. Mildred is one remarkable lady. She is 92 years young, still very active, has a good mind and enjoys living. Really, what else counts? We congratulate her and wish her many more Happy Birthdays.

The Saw Mill Band will be playing at the Alumni Banquet at Lewisburg Saturday night. I think all of the original members of the band will be there.

Jimmy and Cherita Inman visited with us one afternoon last week. We sat in the yard and enjoyed their visit. I’m so glad to be able to be outside again. I’m really an “outdoor” person.

Becky Jo and Jared enjoyed a day on the lake boating Friday. I’m so glad they took time off from their busy schedule to have a little fun.

The Dunmor School Homecoming will be this Saturday night. I hope all the former students that once attended this school are making plans to attend. The numbers are fast disappearing and that makes us know that we too long won’t be around. So make your plans to come and see old friends and enjoy another time together.

It’s time for the mail-lady, so I must stop and get this in the mailbox.

So - have a good week, help someone who needs you, remember to go to church if you can and give God the glory.
