East Logan Water District announces its 2012 senior scholarship recipients, McKenzie Young and Aaron Johnson. McKenzie is the daughter of Chris and LaCinda Sanders of 89 Marshall Cemetery Road, Russellville. McKenzie plans to attend Campbellsville University and major in Pre-Pharmacy.
Aaron Johnson is the son of Michael and Myra Johnson of 5845 Friendship Road, Auburn. Aaron plans to attend Campbellsville University and major in Business. Both are graduates of Logan County High School and rank very high in the top of their class. The students will each receive a $1,000 scholarship from East Logan Water District, payable in two semesters.
Both McKenzie and Aaron have been highly involved in school and community activities and each have received numerous awards and recognitions as well as maintained a 4.0 GPA and had perfect attendance and both have been very involved in their churches. Along with the scholarship application and letters of recommendations, the students submitted essays on the benefits of tap water versus bottled water and the value that tap water has on quality of life, the economy and the environment.
East Logan Water District’s board and management would like to congratulate both McKenzie and Aaron and wish them luck in their future educations. Hats off to these fine students that will represent Logan County High School and the community very well. East Logan Water is very proud of McKenzie and Aaron and consider it a privilege to have them serve as recipients of this years scholarships.
