I Am

I Am the one and only Creator, who made the heavens and the earth;

I Am all things to creation, and show my mighty presence by my work.

I Am the rising mist from the still waters in the middle of the night;

I Am that quiver in the eye of a frightened animal poised for flight.

I Am the heat of the day, the blinding light, of the summer sun’s glow;

I Am on the wings of the hummingbird, and with the call of the crow.

I Am the wind blowing o’er the land and the breath of a newborn child;

I Am the love that’s hidden in a hug, and the rugged beauty of the wild.

I Am rushing air, that ruffles the feathers of a hawk while on the wing;

I Am the force of green sprouts, that part the leaves, in the early spring.

I Am the moment, just before the first raindrop of an approaching storm;

I Am the anticipation of the light, as the darkness fades in early morn.

I Am the silence of a falling snowflake drifting down to the forest floor;

I Am that instant between the lightning’s flash and the thunder’s roar.

I Am the murmur of flowing water, swirling ‘round the rocks in a stream;

I Am a soft warm glow, the rising moon cast out, upon its’ silvery beam.

I Am in every thought you think, know your’ faults, and each mistake;

I Am there at your birth, and I Am there, at the very last breath you take.
