Babe Ruth baseball registration

Babe Ruth sign-ups will be Wednesday March the 21st from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Parks and Rec building downtown behind the post office. Age's will be from 13 to 15 years old. Also anyone 12 years of age and in their last year of little league will be allowed to play.

Cost will be $55. You will also need to bring a copy of your birth cert. For more information contact Artis Stratton at 847-1453. Parks and Rec will also take sign-ups during the week until end of the month.

Annual Vidalia Onion Sale

The Logan County Shrine Club is having their annual Vidalia Onion sale starting now through April 11. Orders will be back in in May. Anyone interested in placing an order may contact any Shriner or Gene A. Richmond at 755-4142 or 725-6333.

Summer Youth League

The Russellville Recreation Center will be taking registration for the 2012 Summer Youth League. This is for tee ball, softee ball, pitching machine and girl’s softball. For any questions on age and league divisions, please call the Recreation Center at 726-5033. There is a $35 fee and sign ups will be held on: March 12-30 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., March 13-19 from 4-6 p.m. and March 17-31 fro 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

AARP TaxAide available

The AARP TaxAide Foundation will again this year be providing tax assistance at the First Presbyterian Church, 159 West Sixth Street on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This free service is available to families having low and moderate income with emphasis on those taxpayers over 60 years old, and will be available each Wednesday through April 11.

Logan Tourist Commission Meeting

The Logan County Tourist & Convention Commission will hold it's monthly meeting at the Tourism Office located in the old courthouse building at 200 West 4th Street in Russellville on Tuesday, March 20 at 11:30 am. Those interested in tourism activities in Logan County are invited to attend.

Democratic Women’s Club meeting

The Logan County Democratic Women’s Club will meet today at 6:30 p.m. at the democratic headquarters in downtown Russellville.

Auburn Tourism meeting

The Auburn Tourism committee will meet today at 6 p.m. at Auburn City Hall. A light supper will be serves. Everyone is invited to attend.

Revival at Victory Baptist

There will be a revival beginning today at Victory Baptist Church in Russellville and going through Sunday, March 25. Times will be 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday. LMH hosts Red Cross Blood Drive

Did you know that every two seconds a patient within the US needs blood? That translates to 44,000 units of blood needed each day in this country alone. On Thursday, March 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Logan Memorial Hospital will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive. Potential donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh 110 pounds and be in good health. The donor should not have given blood in the past in 56 days. Story Time at the Logan County Library is today at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Story Time is filled with books, songs, finger plays, action rhymes, puppets, simple crafts, snacks, and more –a variety every week! Voter Registration

There will be a voter registration drive today from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Logan County Library. Your vote matters. Prepare to vote in the upcoming Presidential Election.

Stuarts Chapel cemetery cleanup

The cleanup of the cemetery and church grounds of Stuarts Chapel Methodist Church will be today around 7:30 or 8 a.m. Anyone with connections or interest in this project is invited to come and help keep the grounds looking nice. It will be rescheduled in case of rain.

Logan Easter Egg Hunt

The Logan County Easter Egg Hunt will be today at 2 p.m. on the softball field at Memorial Park. The egg hunt is open to children ages 1-10. This event is free and sponsored by the Russellville Recreation Department, The Logan County Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion. For more information, call 726-5033.

Schochoh Spring Fish Fry and Auction

There will be a Spring Fish Fry and Auction at the Schochoh Community Center Saturday, March 31 from 5-8 p.m. The Schrocks will be cooking up the delicious Mississippi catfish and we will have white beans, slaw, and hushpuppies. The price is $10 per person. We will also be having an auction that evening. We hope to have some delicious home baked goods, Easter baskets and any other donations that we collect.
