The News-Democrat & Leader incorrectly identified Jacob K. Gidcumb as the driver of a 1997 Saturn, which crashed on KY 100 Wednesday night.
The sheriff's department confirmed Friday that Gidcumb was a passenger in the car prior to the wreck. He died after exiting the vehicle and laying down on the road.
The original information from the Logan County Sheriff's Department did not specify which of the three occupants of the car was driving at the time of the crash. Catherine E. McMeen, 18 of Russellville, and Marshall W. Riley, 25 of Russellville, were listed as the other two occupants in the vehicle.
The investigation is still ongoing and no further details will be released by the Logan County Sheriff's Department until it is closed. When the final report of the incident is completed, details will be reported in the News-Democrat & Leader.
