Exercise class canceled

The Adairville Red River Fish & Game Habitat Exercise Class will not be held today or May 15. Class will resume the next week. The exercise class is free and begins at 8:45 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday in the clubhouse. All are welcome to attend.

Wednesday, 14

LEAD/IDA meetings

The Logan Economic Alliance for Development (LEAD) will meet today at 7 a.m. in the Logan County Chamber of Commerce Meeting Room in Russellville. The Logan Industrial Development Authority (IDA) will meet today at 8 a.m. following the LEAD meeting in the same location. LEAD and IDA meetings are open to the public. All who live and/or do business in Logan County are welcome to attend. For more information, please call the LEAD office at 726-9575.

Russellville D.A.R. meeting

The Russellville Chapter of D.A.R. will meet at Crittenden Drive Church of Christ on today at 3 p.m. The program presented by Ms. Elaine Williams will be on “Women's Health in Today's World.” Hostesses will be Mrs. Gordon Christmas, Mrs. Julie Hicks and Mrs. Larry Wilcutt.

Bullying Workshop

A workshop, “Bullying: How Do I Put a Stop to Kid Teasing?” will be held today from 5 to 6 p.m. at KP Hall. Parents, children, mentors and others who work with children are invited. Holy Land Drama

Creekwood Place Nursing and Rehab Center will have their Second Annual Holy Land Drama today at 2 p.m. Visitors can see the market place with many booths and vendors and there will be music and a live drama. The event is free and open to the public.

RHS Band Banquet

The Russellville High School band will be celebrating this year's accomplishments with a banquet today at 6:30 p.m. in the RHS gym. If you have not turned in your reservations yet, please contact Beth Brock at 726-7855 as soon as possible.

LCHS Athletic Booster Club

The Logan County Athletic Booster Club will meet today at 7 p.m. in Room 400 at Logan County High School. Enter the building at the entrance to the Auxiliary gym off the student parking lot. The main purpose of this meeting will be the election of officers for the 2008-09 school year. All parents and supporters of Cougar Athletics are invited to attend.

Relay for Life Cookout, Auction

The Logan County Relay for Life team is hosting a cookout and basket auction today from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the south end of Logan Memorial Hospital. There will be all types of theme and gift baskets available for auction. Tickets can be purchased through the administration at the hospital or by calling 270-725-4515. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children 4-12 years. This includes choice of a sandwich, chips and drink. All proceeds will go to the Relay for Life Logan County Brent Summers will be the auctioneer.

Angel Food Ministry

Lewisburg United Methodist Church will take Angel Food Ministry orders today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lewisburg City Hall. Delivery day will be May 31 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Blood Drive in Lewisburg

The Lewisburg Lions Club is sponsoring a Blood Drive at City Hall in Lewisburg today from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. There will be free lunch and door prizes.

Sheriff's Department fishing rodeo

Wild Goose Pay Lake is hosting the Sheriff's Department 3rd Annual “Kids Fishing Rodeo” today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is open to children 12 and under and they must be accompanied by an adult. Lunch, door prizes and trophies provided. The lake is 2.5 miles out Highland Lick Road. For more info call 772-1643.

Karaoke Contest

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Community Branding Committee is hosting a Mark Your Mark Karaoke Contest today from 1 to 3 p.m. at Little River Days in downtown Hopkinsville. The contest is open to the public and $100 will be awarded for first place, $50 for second. For more info, call 270-885-9096.

Olmstead SBDM nominations, election

Olmstead School will be accepting nominations for parent representatives for the School Based Decision Making Council beginning Wednesday, April 30. Elections will be held on Monday, May 19 as part of the Salute to Excellence program at 6 p.m. Nomination forms can be picked up in the school office.

Benefit program

Mama Minnie and the New Spiritualettes will be hosting a benefit program for Sis. Georgia Ann Posey today at 6 p.m. at Bank Street A.M.E. Zion Church. Choirs, groups and soloists are invited to participate. Sis. Posey is 70 and has lung cancer.

Homemakers 75th Anniversary

The Logan County Homemakers will be celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Kentucky Extension Homemakers Association with a tea and open house today 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Logan County Extension Office. The event is open to the public. We would love to have great representation from all county Homemakers and would love to see great support of the state Homemakers Association from the community during this time of celebration.

Auburn Historical Society program

The Auburn Historical Society will celebrate the neighboring communities of Richeliue and Bucksville today from 2 to 5 p.m. with a display in the Auburn Museum, 433 W. Main Street in Auburn, featuring pictures and other artifacts from those communities The pictures are from the early 1900's and beautifully tell the story of two thriving communities of that place and time. The sponsors ask if anyone have pictures of the communities and the folks who lived there in that time period that you bring those and share in an afternoon of fellowship and memories.

Woodlawn Homecoming

Woodlawn Baptist Church, 418 Clarksville Rd., will be celebrating 50 years today with Homecoming. Former pastor David Hale will bring the morning message at 11 a.m. with lunch following in the new Activity Building. Resurrection Bound will be singing at around 1 p.m.

Grace Baptist Church, Armstrong Street, Russellville will be having Timothy Sweatman, guest speaker today for morning and evening services at 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Swim lesson signups

The Carpenter Fitness & Aquatic Center will be holding sign ups for swim lessons today through May 23. Lessons will be June 7-14 for ages 3 and up. Cost for members, $10, and cost for nonmembers, $40. Come to the Carpenter Center to register. For more info, call JoAnn at 726-5052.

Skating for a Cure

There will be a “Skating for a Cure” fundraiser at Spinners Fun Center in Lewisburg today from 6 to 9 p.m.

Skating will cost $5 or $7 for in-line skates. All proceeds will benefit Logan County. Relay for Life.

Kiwanis Club Golf Scramble

The Russellville Kiwanis Club Golf Scramble will be held today at Rolling Hills Golf Course with shot gun start at 8 a.m. No entries accepted after 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 17. Entry is $40 and includes green and cart fees and a free gift. First 80 players only. Team entries no accepted. Lewisburg High Alumni Banquet

The Lewisburg High School Alumni Banquet will be held today at the Lewisburg Elementary School Cafeteria. Social Hour will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Graduates of 1958 will be honored. Dinner reservations are $12 per person and association dues are $5 per graduate.
