Color, fashion and fabric trends for spring 2008

The spring color palette features classic, versatile neutrals accented by splashes of invigorating brights. According to Pantone, Inc., the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, the top ten colors for Spring 2008 are: Golden Olive, Spring Crocus (lavender) , Rococco Red, Pink Mist, Silver Gray, Croissant (beige), Freesia (bright yellow), Cantaloupe, Daiquiri Green, and Snorkel Blue.

Sheer fabrics will be the trend for spring. The colorful palette contains transparent, semi-transparent, flimsy, and delicate fabrics. Silky, delicate fabrics in pale pastel colors, pleated or gracefully draped, top the lists. Fluid skirts with layers of transparent fabric add an appealing look for evening wear. Longer skirts were back on the runways for spring fashion in contrast to last year's miniskirts.
