Russellville Police Chief Barry Dill wants the citizens of Russellville to be aware of a special service his department provides at no charge for those who feel a little leery about leaving their homes for long periods of time.

With the spring and summer months quickly approaching, families will be planning their vacations which will take them from their homes. According to Chief Dill, the uncomfortable worry of leaving behind their worldly possessions can be eased with just a quick application process.

Whether you are going to a far destination for an extended stay or only going for a few days, Chief Dill would like to inform the citizens of Russellville that officers will gladly perform residential security checks of your home while you are away in an effort to keep your property safe.

“The officer physically checks your home for broken windows, open doors, and unexplained damage,” Dill said. “If necessary, you will be notified while on vacation if any unusual activity is noted at your home.”

Dill said for those who wish to utilize the service all they have to do is come by the Russellville Police Department located on the Square and fill out a residential security check request.

“This service is only provided to residents of the city of Russellville,” Dill said
