Friday's boys' basketball game between Greenwood and Logan County featured two teams going in opposite directions.

The Gators won 80-31 for their Fourth Region best 10th consecutive victory, while the Cougars dropped their 13th straight contest.

Logan County led 3-2 at the 6:07 mark of the first quarter - thanks to a field goal and a free throw from eighth-grade starter Twin Lancaster - but that didn't last long.

Greenwood closed the period on a 20-2 run to take a 22-5 lead into the second quarter.

Freshman C.J. Smith led the Gators with seven points during the quarter.

Lancaster - who was starring for Olmstead Middle School just two weeks prior - scored all five points for the Cougars in the first quarter.

Logan County was outscored 21-10 in the second quarter and trailed 43-15 at halftime.

The Cougars scored only four points in the third quarter - including a 3-pointer by Brett Sowell that stopped a 12-0 run by the Gators.

Heading into the fourth quarter, Logan County trailed 62-19.

The Cougars put together a bit of a run in the fourth quarter, outscoring Greenwood 6-0 to make the score 76-31, but Greenwood scored the final four points of the game.
