Angela Blake, a 2007 Logan County High School graduate, has been awarded the Roads Scholars Leadership Housing Scholarship and the Honor Scholarship to attend Murray State University.

The Roads Scholars Leadership Housing Scholarship is awarded to students based on contributions to school, church and community. The award is applied to normal university housing charges and is a one year, non-renewable reward. The Honor Scholarship recognizes entering freshman or transfer students who are outstanding achievers or leaders.

Blake is the daughter of Charles and Bonnie Blake of Lewisburg. She will be majoring in nursing at Murray State.

Brittany Hall, a 2007 graduate of Russellville High School, has been awarded the Honor Scholarship to attend Murray State University.

The Honor Scholarship recognizes entering freshmen or transfer students who are outstanding achievers or leaders.

Hall is the daughter of Alan and Toni Hall of Russellville. She will be majoring in nursing at Murray State University.

Jarrick Heflin, a 2007 graduate of Russellville High School, has been awarded the Hope, Endeavor and Achievement Scholarship, Department of Music Scholarship and the Racer Band Leadership Award to attend Murray State University.

The Hope, Endeavor and Achievement Scholarship is available to all students. Scholarships from the department of music are awarded to students based on talent in voice or instrument. A student must audition in order to be considered for this. The Racer Band Leadership award is given to high school band members who plan to be a part of the Murray State Racer Band.

Heflin is the son of Rick and Darlene Heflin of Russellville. He will be majoring in music education.

Samantha Shields, a 2007 Russellville High School graduate, has been awarded the Roads Scholars Leadership Housing Scholarship and the Mary Moore Lassiter Scholarship to attend Murray State University.

The Roads Scholars Scholarship is awarded to students based on contributions to school, church and community and is applied to normal university housing charges. It is a one-year, non-renewable award. The Mary Moore Lassiter Scholarship is available to business majors who hold a 3.0 GPA and are active in organizations within their field of study.

Shields is the daughter of Dale and Stephanie Shields of Russellville. She will be double majoring in special education and broadcast journalism at Murray State.
