Edith Rebecca Huffines, 90 of Auburn, died Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Logan Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Sumner County, Tenn., on April 6, 1917, the daughter of the late Henry Everitt White and the late Clara Fields Grow White. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Huffines was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Hayes Huffines; her son, Billy Huffines, and one grandson, Don Lassiter.

Mrs. Huffines was a homemaker and a member of Corinth and Schochoh Homemakers and a member of Southern Heights Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 18 at Southern Heights Baptist Church with Brother Chris Short and Carl Freudenthal officiating. Burial followed in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Franklin.

Pallbearers were Greg Carter, Michael Carter, David Lassiter, Danny Lassiter, John Noe, Jonathan Noe, John Pierson, Bill Pearson, Neil McNeill and Ben Lassiter.

Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Southern Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Huffines is survived by her son, Bobby (Mary Jo) Huffines of Russellville; her daughter, Barbara (Tommy) Lassiter of Adairville; her brother, Everett White Jr. of Franklin; her sisters, Velma L. White of Auburn and Thelma Froyd of Preston, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and 3 step great-great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Southern Heights Baptist Church Building Fund. Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
