May is Older American Month and to draw attention to these citizens and the services available to them a Senior Day has been planned. It will be in the Clubhouse at the city-county park on Wednesday, May 23.

The Russellville Senior Center and Park and Recreation Department will sponsor the activities of the day.

There will be special recognition of the 80-plus population with a program and potluck meal. All seniors 50-plus are invited to the celebration of the lives of this special group of people.

The day will start at 9:30 a.m. with registration and booths set up with different service providers sharing what’s available to the senior. The Celebration program will begin around 11:15 with greetings and special music.Evelyn Richardson has been invited to address the group and help us celebrate the 80-plus population.

A potluck luncheon will follow with the senior program sponsoring the meat and drinks. So bring your dish and be a part of honoring our older population.

Help the sponsors to make this a special day by bringing your friends and family members.

For transportation called 726-9884 by Tuesday the 22nd.

If you would like to volunteer for the day's event, please contact Juanita at the center or Park and Recreation 726-5033.
