Students from Russellville High School attended the State Beta Convention on November 3 - 4th in Louisville, Kentucky. Attending the convention were Seniors Abby Clark, Taylor Ray, Caitlin Reeves, Brooklyn Humphrey, Jenny Barrow, Anne Chambers, Tyler Meacham, Wesley Rutherford and Ethan Wills. Juniors attending were Ann Linton Smith, Rebecca Reeves, Katie Embry, Deepa Patel and Elizabeth Corbin.

Deepa Patel ran as a candidate for the State President's office. She competed with eight others for the position by conducting a campaign consisting of a t-shirt logo, “Deepa's the Deal” skit, poster and a campaign speech. The candidates toured the Kosair Children's Hospital on Saturday afternoon to get a first hand look at how Beta assists children in need. The Beta Club supports St. Jude as their national philanthropy.

Many of the students competed in a variety of competitions. Jenny Barrow, senior, won first place in the art/sculpting category. She submitted a sculptor of her former teacher, Ken Brown.

Beta Club sponsors are Brandon Blake and Belinda Ray.
