“Let us lead by serving others” is the Olmstead Beta motto and members have been very involved in several service projects. Members have collected trash in the “Adopt a Highway” program. They helped primary students and teachers in the first “Partnering with Parents” night of the year. They are also collecting and recycling cans to earn money for the Cynthia Mason Kemp scholarship.
Beta members played a big part in helping with the recent Olmstead School fall festival. Several members are busy rehearsing for our upcoming “Dessert Theater” on Oct. 26 featuring the play Bed Bugs.
During good neighbor week members will be completing different individual projects in our community. Plans are also being made for an upcoming fund raiser to sell cookbooks.
A very special induction ceremony was held on Sept. 19 to induct the following new members.
6th grade- Addie Baldwin, Ravyn Brown, Baybe Chestnut, Rebecca Dezarn, Christy Johnson, Amanda Latham, Caroline Milam, Logan Morris, Elizabeth Motsinger, Tyson White, and Tiffany Wright.
7th grade- Alexis Gardener, Kayra Hendrix, Twin Lancaster, Ryan McCraw, and Tyler Whittington.
8th grade- Heather Brown, Kristen Hightower, and Ginger Walker.
“Our Beta Club has had a very successful year so far and we are looking forward to many other exciting events,” says Sponsor Gayla Martin.
