Tuesday, Aug. 1 will be the first day for students in Logan County Schools in grades K-12. On the first day, schools will be in session until 1 p.m. with lunch served.

Regular school times will be as follows:

Adairville 7:40 a.m.-2:50 p.m.

Auburn 7:45 a.m.-2:55 p.m.

Chandler's 7:45 a.m.-2:55 p.m.

Lewisburg 7:45 a.m.-2:55 p.m.

Olmstead 7:40 a.m.-2:55 p.m.

LCHS 8 a.m.-2:52 p.m.

All elementary schools will dismiss at 1 p.m. on Friday with teachers staying until 3 for faculty meetings and planning.

Buses arrive early at each elementary school for breakfast. Parents may check with the school for the breakfast schedule. Prices will be $1 for paid student and 30 cents for reduced. Lunch prices have been set at $1.50 for students county-wide, 40 cents for reduced. Milk will cost 25 cents.

New students must bring their birth certificates and Kentucky immunization records with them the first day of school if they have not preregistered. All new students should have a social security number. Students beginning school for the first time in Kentucky must have a physical and an eye exam. In addition, sixth grade students must have a new physical and a renewed immunization record in order to be enrolled in school. Kindergarten students will attend all day, Monday through Friday.

Preschool students may register at each school on Friday, Aug. 4 from 8 a.m. until 12 noon. Preschool students will attend every Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. or 11 until 2 p.m. Preschool classes will start on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

The first day staff members in the Logan County system will be Friday, July 28 with a professional development day at Logan County High School. Monday, July 31, will be preparation day for teachers.

Elementary/middle schools' calendars will include an extra professional day this year. Students will be dismissed at Lewisburg School on Monday, Sept. 11; Olmstead on Sept. 25; Auburn on Oct. 23; Chandlers on Nov. 13; and Adairville on Dec. 4. When these schools are out all of the other schools will be in session. This extra day will provide the teachers an opportunity to observe exemplary teaching techniques.

Elementary and middle school students will have a fee of $17. High school students will have a fee of $18 and a textbook rental fee of $30.
