Only two teams could achieve that feat and both teams came out of Logan County.
The Russellville Lady Panthers surprised the Lady Rebels 2-1 (25-19, 18-25, 27-25) and the Logan County Lady Cougars continued its dominance in district play with a thorough beating of Franklin-Simpson 2-0 (25-14, 25-7) before making the district title game another 'Clash of the Cats' game that the Lady Cougars held off the upstart Lady Panthers 2-0 (25-16, 25-11).
In the first match it, Logan County had to defend against complacency and sluggishness as they faced the Lady 'Cats. Earlier in the season the Lady 'Cats pushed the Lady Cougars in a game. The Lady Cougars didn't allow that and finished off the Lady 'Cats early in the first game 25-14. In the second game the Lady Cougars wrapped things up quicker with a 25-7 victory for their 300th win and secured a place in the regional tournament.
In the second match the Lady Panthers, who had struggled with consistency all year long, took on a Lady Rebels team that was already looking ahead to the Lady Cougars. They paid for overlooking the Lady Panthers and fell in the first game 25-19. In the second game Todd County picked it up and managed to win the second to force a third game 25-18. In the third game RHS was up 24-18 but couldn't force the kill shot and Todd County punched and clawed their way to tie it 24 all. The teams traded points before the Lady Panthers put the Lady Rebels away 27-25 and also punched their ticket to the regional tournament next week.
In the district finals the Lady Cougars squared off against their old foes and in the first game it appeared that the magic was still in the air as the Lady Panthers refused to yield, closing the lead to 16-12, but the Lady Cougars managed to hold on just long enough to win the game 25-16. In the second game the Lady Cougars didn't allow the Lady Panthers to claw their way back and rattled off 7 straight points and finished up 25-11 to take their 9th district title in a row.
The Lady Panthers and Lady Cougars will both go on to the regional tournament next week. The drawing and matchups will be held over the weekend.
