On Dec. 22, my aunt, Lottie Goodwin, was laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville.

As the funeral procession, which originated in Russellville, entered the city limits of Adairville, we were met by Police Chief Jim Ray.

He immediately fell in front of the procession with his lights flashing and was going a slower speed. The oncoming traffic pulled to the side and stopped. Such respect and honor!

When we entered the cemetery, Chief Ray blocked the oncoming traffic with his vehicle and stood at attention outside his car. He was very professional in his dress, stance and attitude. He commanded honor for my aunt and I know her daughters and grandchildren are very proud.

Good job, Chief Ray, and thank you for your dedication to the people of Logan County!
