He was born in Logan County on Oct. 1, 1931, to the late Claude and Janie Mae Chaney Nichols.
A graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville with Brother Chad Duke officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Pennick, Joe Mason, Wilford Arnold, Larry Tucker, Leo Pitt and Donnie Edwards.
He is survived by his nephew, Nikkie Hughes of Frankfort; his cousin, Carol Jones Stewart of Russellville; and his great-nephews, Matt Sircy of Oregon and Josh Sircy of Reno, Nevada.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home of Springfield, Tenn. is in charge of the arrangements.
