Carolyn Ann Appling, 56, of Auburn, died Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Bro. Eddie Fowler and Bro. David Morgan will be officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Appling was born in Logan County, Feb. 25, 1949, to James Alex Knight and Ruby Williams Knight.

Preceding her in death are her father James Alex Knight; and her three brothers, Easter Knight of Elkton, William Knight of Auburn, and Libby Knight of Daysville.

Surviving Mrs. Appling are her mother Ruby Williams Knight of Russellville; husband William Carey Appling of Russellville; her daughter Dana Stranger and husband Tracey of Auburn; son Barry Appling of Bowling Green; two brothers, Bert and Roger Knight, both of Russellville; four sisters, Polly Middleton of Jeffersonville, Id., Marilyn Johnson of Smyrna, Tenn., Jewel McNeely of Grandview, Ind. and Rita Owen of Elkton; and three grandchildren, Chelsea Rolf, and Cara and Braden Stranger, all of Auburn.
