Lucian Lester Rogers, 80, of Elkton, died April 5, 2005 at Logan Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Christian County on June 14, 1924, a son of the late Lucian Lester Rogers and Birdie Ruth Johns. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae Pleasant Rogers, and his daughter, Jonell Rogers.

Mr. Rogers was a retired roofer, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion and a founding member of the Hopkinsville VFW.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on April 8 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, with the Reverend Chris Short officiating. There will be visitation at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton from 9 a.m.-noon.

Mr. Rogers is survived by his son, Randy Rogers of Elkton, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
