For the second straight game, the Auburn Lady Tigers have held a team which was in the Logan County Middle School Tournament finals last year to low point production.

Coach Josh Hall's team beat visiting Lewisburg 28-9 Thursday. Lewisburg was runner-up last year to the Chandlers team which Auburn had held to 12 points in the previous game.

Meanwhile the Auburn boys beat the defending champion Rangers 62-19 to cap a great week for Auburn basketball.

In the girls game, Lewisburg managed only two first-half points, a basket by Courtney Gibbs. She finished with 6 points while Lyndi Adler had 2 and Nikki Piper 1.

Erica Meguiar topped a balanced Auburn attack with 8 points while Jenna Wilson and Devin Brown each had 6 and Sarah Speck and Victoria Elliott 4 each.

The Tiger boys, who led 39-6 at the half, got 15 points from Zach Smith and 14 each from Joshua Slaton and Daniel Pardue. Derek Robinson added 7, Will Orndorff 4, and Davis Pardue, Drew Stamps, John Logan Dockins and Derrod Blakey 2 each.

For Lewisburg, Richard Anderson and Michael Lee each had 6 points, John Austin Peterson, Lucas Wooldridge and Taylor Wells 2 each, and Jacob Hopkins 1.
