Ada Spurlin Butler, 77, of Elkton, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Elkton.

She was born in Todd County on July 11, 1927, a daughter of the late Charles Thomas Talley and Norene Knight Talley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her first husband, Shelby 'Mutt' Spurlin in 1982; her second husband, William 'Bill' Butler in 2001; her brother, Roosevelt Talley, and her sister, Eva Carnall.

Mrs. Butler was retired as the administrator of Country Manor Nursing Home in Elkton. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. in Latham Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of the funeral.

She is survived by her sons, Brent Spurlin of Elkton and Jim Butler of Clarksville, Tenn.; her daughter, Connie Moon of Elkton, and her grandchildren, Derek Butler, Lindsey Spurlin, Shelbie Spurlin, and Chasity Jennings.
