, received a grant in the amount of $1,250,000 from the Kentucky General Assembly to benefit nine of its local customers. These nine entities decommissioned their water treatment plants when they began to purchase water from LTRWC. These funds were specifically allocated for the purpose of retiring a portion of the indebtedness still existing on the water treatment equipment held by each individual city or district. On Friday, November 21, 2003, the funds were distributed according to the recommendations of the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority (KIA) and were pro-rated based upon the number of retail water customers that are served by these nine cities and water districts.

Todd County Water District - Dr. George Brown, Chairman - $126, 450

South Logan Water Association - Thad Rogers, Chairman - $119,800

City of Elkton - Mayor John Walton - $154,550

City of Trenton - Mayor Craig Hines - $22,875

City of Auburn, CIMA - Keith Batchelor, Director - Mayor Dewey Roche - $48,750

City of Adairville - Mayor Bill Steen - $29,950

City of Lewisburg - Mayor Kenneth Whitson - $77,750

Special appreciation was expressed to Executive Director Roger Recktenwald of KIA for his efforts as administrator of these funds and to Russellville Mayor Shirlee Yassney who also serves on the board of KIA.
