She was born in Montgomery County, Tenn. on Nov. 13, 1917, a daughter of the late John Clarence and Stella Chesnut Young. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy Young, David Young and 'Pat' Young, and her sisters, Hazel Hoskinson and Myra Chesnut.
Ms. Young was retired from the former Planters Bank in Hopkinsville as assistant vice president and trust officer. She was a member of and organist for Elkton Baptist Church. She was also a Sunday school teacher, church clerk and a Training Union and Senior Adult Fellowship director.
Funeral services were held Aug. 7 at Elkton Baptist Church, with the Rev. John R. Christian, the Rev. Jerry Tracy and the Rev. W.D. Sharp officiating. Burial followed in the Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton.
Ms. Young is survived by her nephews, Billy Young of Cross Plains, Tenn., Jim Young of Clarksville, Tenn., Paul Young of Elkton and Phil Young of Maysville; and her nieces, Dr. Linda Young of Tallahassee, Fla. and Emily Gholson of Owensboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kentucky Baptist Children's Home at P.O. Box 36570 in Louisville.
Latham Funeral Home in Elkton was in charge of arrangements.
