She was born in Spencer County, Ind. March 8, 1936, a daughter of the late Walter Curtis and Hester Virginia (Shourds) Bell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vance was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Bell.
Mrs. Vance was a member of the Patronville United Methodist Church. She worked with quality control in the banking industry.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 17, at 1 p.m. at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind. with Reverend Roland Lawrence officiating, Visitation was held Friday, Sept. 16, from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial followed in the Shiloh Cemetery in Rockport, Ind.
She is survived by her children, Judy Rhodes and husband Richard of Finksburg, Md., Gail Belcher and husband Randy of Lewisburg and SSG. James Vance and wife Jennifer of Fort Huachuca, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, and her siblings, Tom Bell of Rockport, Ind. and Sheila Herring of Rockport, Ind.
