The region tennis tournament was scheduled to start up Monday with opening round matches.

The second round and quarterfinals will be played tonight with the boys being played at Bowling Green and the girls being played at Kereiakas Park.

In the boys singles events LCHS and RHS have participants. For RHS John David Reeves will take on Hunter Boswell from LCHS. McLean Shutt will square off against Spillman from Barren County. For LCHS Logan Johnson will battle Compton from Metcalfe County.

In the boys doubles events LCHS and RHS will both compete. LCHS’ Jake Neiman and Evan Harris are seeded 6th and will take on Bunnelll and Rickard from Barren County. LCHS’s Gunderson and Cory Jones will take on Crowden and Young from Cumberland County. RHS’ Will Oakley and Cameron Tisdale will take on Bell and Gibson from Glasgow. RHS’ Chris Collier and Corum will take on Greer and Wright from Franklin-Simpson.

In the girls singles events LCHS and RHS have participants. RHS’ Kesi Neblett will square off against Arnold from Warren East. LCHS’ Mason Gregory will take on Lessenberry from Glasgow. LCHS’ Anna Wilkins will take on Clark from Warren East.

In the girls doubles events only LCHS will be participanting. Meg and Brenna Brown will be seeded 5th and take on Baker and Bishop from Glasgow and Hales and Stales will square off against Brady and Peratto from Cumberland County.
