Mr. Mark Hightower and Ms. Stacey Stratton Hightower, both of Russellville, announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Brittany Nicole Hightower of Russellville to Mark Allen Newman of Placerville, Calif., son of Gary and Lynn Collins-Newman of Placerville, Calif.

Miss Hightower is the granddaughter of Jean Parrish and Dwight Hightower of Russellville and the late Maurice and Sarah Stratton of Russellville.

The bride-elect attended Austin Peay University for two and a half years and is employed at Kohls Department Store in Clarksville, Tenn.

Mr. Newman is the grandson of Terry and Betty Collins of Grizzly Flats, Calif. and Joseph Newman and the late Phillis Newman of Placerville, Calif.

The bridegroom attended Folsom Lake Community College for one and a half years and is employed by the United States Army and is stationed at Fort Campbell.

The wedding is planned for 2 p.m., May 15, 2011 at the Historical Rail Park & Train Museum in Bowling Green. Invitations have been sent.
