Jean C. Smock, 79, of Russellville, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Hospice Center in Bowling Green.

She was born in Muhlenberg County May 31, 1931, a daughter of the late Oris and Fannie Gillock Cabbage. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smock was preceded in death by her son, Todd Smock.

Mrs. Smock was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 109 of Lewisburg and was a member of the Elk Lick Baptist Church in Spa.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 3 at Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Brother Art Hatfield officiating. Burial followed in the Elk Lick Baptist Church Cemetery. There was an Eastern Star service held Sunday, April 3 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Christopher Smock, Austin Smock, Dave Delaney, Ben Davis, Les Hayes and Ty Motsinger.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Junior E. Smock; her sons, Barry Smock and wife Fran of Santa Fe, N.M. and Troy Smock of Russellville; her daughters, Donna Ezell and husband David of Russellville and Joni Davis and husband Tim of Campbellsville; nine grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family requests that donations be made to the Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
