She was born in Robertson County, Tenn. June 22, 1926, a daughter of the late Cordell Grogan and the late Addie Mae Brown Grogan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Abney was preceded in death by her husband, James Sonny Abney and a son, Wade Abney.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 10 at Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Brother Jimmy Chapman and Brother Steve Woody officiating. Burial followed in the Belmont Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roger Pozehl, Emmanuel Portolese, Craig Brodd, Bill Smith, Stacy Summers and Jim Kutzman.
She is survived by her son, Timothy Abney and wife Susie of Houston, Texas; her daughters, Jo Ann Portolese and husband Emanuel of Spokane, Wash., Linda Pillow of Russellville, Dorris Pozehl and husband, Roger of Keysburg and Kathy Brodd and husband Craig and Joyce Dollen, all of Houston, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Rita Abney; her brothers, C.D. Grogan of Auburn and Lloyd Grogan of Russellville; her sister, Aline Doty of Silver Springs, Nev.; 12 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
