The Auburn Historical Society is privileged to have Commonwealth Attorney Gail Guiling as chairperson of our membership drive this year. Gail is a dedicated board member who along with other members wants to see this organization grow and prosper.

Our membership in past years has increased as has our commitment to the people of Auburn and surrounding area to preserve the history of our community. Artifacts are donated on a regular basis and displayed for visitors to see when touring the museum. The one room school house, old Auburn jail and barn with farming machinery from the past are included in the museum tour. Every effort is made to preserve and care for donated family heirlooms

The Historical Society is fortunate that The Auburn Museum property is debt free, thanks to the generosity of our members and the grants from the Carpenter Foundation that covered the initial purchase cost and later renovations.

The Historical Society is pleased to be able to provide a home for The Auburn Branch Library and Adult Education Program, rent free. Their only expense being their utilities.

To cover ongoing costs, events are sponsored throughout the year, such as yard sales, the Christmas Tour of Homes and others. However, membership fees are our main source of funding. The cost of membership is minuscule compared with other organizations. Yearly sues are $10 for an individual, $25 for a business, $100 for corporate membership and greater than $100 for sponsorship. Membership includes free admission to the museum with guided tour.

The Historical Society is grateful to those members who have supported us through the years and hope you will do so again this year. We appeal also to nonmembers to join us and work with us that we might continue to preserve the history of Auburn for future generations.

Your membership will be greatly appreciated. Dues may be paid at the Auburn Museum, Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. or by mail to:
