Elkton man arrested for meth

This week while investigating a theft, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department wound up arresting an Elton man after finding methamphetamine in the camper he was in at the time of the investigation.

On Wednesday March 2, 2016, at 7:19 p.m. the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2000 block of Daysville Road in reference to a theft investigation that was being conducted by the Sheriffs Office.

Upon arrival to the scene, deputies located an open door leading into a building that contained a camper.

When law enforcement made contact with the occupant of the camper, 27-year-old Jonathan Hurt of Elkton, deputies saw crystal methamphetamine in plain view on the counter top along with a digital scales.

Hurt was then arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance first degree, second offense (methamphetamine), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Deputy Kyler Harvey was assisted on the scene by Sergeant Clint Deputy Jarrod Lyons and Todd County Sheriffs Office. Hurt was lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.
