Antioch News

Greetings from The Antioch Community.

Our Senior citizens went to Shady Cliff Restaurant and ate lunch on Friday. We had a good time and enjoyed the food very much. The waitress was so good to us. She gave me a hot fudge cake for my birthday. There was 10 adults and one baby went.

Melba Gibbs drove the church bus for us. Others that went were Juanita Key, Irene White, Alva Lois Greer, Marcie Patterson, Joyce McIntosh, JoAnn Henderson, Patty Campbell, Dolores Harris, Louise Henderson and Melba’s great grandson.

The plans are to go to East Meets West in Hopkinsville on the 18th of September. We leave the church at 10 a.m. If you would like to go with us, get in touch with Marcie Patterson.

I always enjoy listening to Gerald Hildabrand when he is on the Radio with his music. I had to keep a doctor’s appointment Monday morning so I didn’t get to hear all the program.

It was good to see Rhonda Sullivan at Dr. Ahmed’s office Monday. She said she was doing good. She said her daughter was 14 years old. My how fast they do grow up.

I enjoyed listening to Mark and Kay Thornberry and Mike Humble on the Radio Tuesday morning. We are very proud of Mark and Kay for doing mission work with the Native Americans in South Dakota. They need help in order to winterize some of the trailers before winter. Maybe your church would like to give a donation to help with this mission work. Or maybe you could go and help do the work. Get in touch with Mark or Bro. Mike.

Christine White is still in the Hospital.

Rosie Yarnell got to go home, but is still having to be in a wheelchair.

Betty took me to see a doctor in Bowling Green last week. She bought my lunch for an early birthday dinner. We ate at O’Charley’s. we had the nicest young man to be our waiter. He gave me a piece of pie for my birthday.

Wishing a happy birthday to those who are having a birthday in September. Our Tops Club #ky466 Russellville, which means “take off pounds sensibly” meets each Wednesday morning between 9 and 9:30 a.m. in the dining room at Logan Memorial Hospital.
