Landy Panthers get basketball awards

For the NDL

The Russellville Lady Panthers, both middle and high school basketball teams, were honored at the school during their annual banquet recently.

Coach Calvin Head reported the Basketball Banquet Awards and honors as follows: Rookie of the Year-Jayce Buchner; Coaches Award-Tatyana Peterson; 110% Award-Addie Hendley; Defensive Player of the Year-Sariana Allen; Most Improved-Lexie Day; Most Improved-Carleigh Phillips; Academic Award (Highest GPA) 4.05-Gabbi Poirier; Teammate Award-Alissa Kennedy; Lady Panther of the Year-Loreal Cheaney; Overtime Award-Gabbi Poirier; Roger Dale Daniel Adversity Award-DeShala LeBlanc. The Academic Awards – 3.25 or Higher – Honorable Mention – All-State: Carleigh Phillips, Lexie Day, Sariana Allen, Tatyana Peterson, and Jayce Buchner; 3.75 or Higher – First Team All-State: Makayla Davis, Loreal Cheaney, Addie Hendley, and Gabbi Poirier. RMS Basketball Banquet Awards: Lady Panther of the Year-Chloe Whitescarver; Rookie of the Year-Lillian Newman; Coaches’ Award-Macaria Hines; 110% Award-Brinley Mason; Defensive Player of the Year-Amiyah Collier and Anastasia Dowlen; Most Improved-Jaylah Kees; Academic Award-Jordin Morris and Natalie Cates; Teammate Award-Kryslyn Underwood and Sania Dukes; and Panther Spirit Award-Aeireona Yancey.
